Gail Rothman led a high-impact relaunch of the Newton Education Foundation starting in late 2023. By focusing on organizational infrastructure—including board recruitment, training, and the modernization of internal policies and bylaws—we created a foundation built on best practices. This strategic overhaul empowered the foundation to secure over $177,500 in diverse grants and generate $590,000 through the 2024 and 2025 Georgia PEACH Education Tax Credit. These funds directly support critical district needs, including structured literacy training for educators at six schools, a youth voice listening project and funds for closing the opportunity gap through enrichment grants.
We started the Newton Education Foundation fifteen years ago but could never grow it beyond a small group of donors. We brought Gail Rothman in to relaunch NEF and she has made it an integral part of our community and helped us raise over $600,000. Having someone with so much education foundation experience meant we were laser focused on what worked and that made things move efficiently and effectively.
